Check out all of my Ragnar Niagara 2018 recap posts: Ragnar prep, Reebok van decorating party, Leg 1, leg 2 and leg 3!
After finishing and grabbing a snack, we drove to the next major exchange where within minutes the monsters of van 1 were snoring away! Thankfully Janice who was on the team last year and was volunteering for us, traveled over to say hi! With the 3:00 am time, darkness, broken bathrooms and trying to get Maria and Kate ready (they were running their legs together) we forgot a photo! More darkness followed with an exchange at a very windy waterfront to Carmy. We drove with the rising sun to the next exchange. I updated social media and went for a walk to stay awake while the rest of the van slept. Here comes Carmy! I can't say enough about how impressed I was with this girl during this race! She did AMAZING. There is something special about the last leg of Ragnar. Knowing you are about to have put in as much as you can for your team. That 1K marker was worth taking the moment to pause and snap a photo. This is a case of the photos look better than you imagined it to look while doing it. The huge snap bracelet wind up to Michael. Leg 3 map and gear. Erik and Michael on their final legs The last major exchange! Leanne is looking psyched about her last leg. Looking pretty good for a bunch of people that haven't really slept! Another of my favourite Reebok / Ragnar pics! Knowing we'd get this coffee was a huge motivator for my last leg! You know you are tired when you start falling asleep on park benches and dressing exactly like your friends. Arriving in Niagara Falls! Crazy fast visit with Melly! Waiting for Ron on the very last leg! Earning that extra medal! Our favourite New Yorker leads the way to the finish! Apparently that escarpment hill and tourist dodging did not phase him in his sprint to the finish! We had a hard time keeping up! So glad I was the one to be able to put this hard earned, well deserved medal around the neck of our captain Allison! I have this angle on FB live video! Ha ha! WE DID IT! We are Ragnarians. Together we can accomplish anything! This photo does not even begin to describe how tired we were here! One last team gathering (while Ron travels home to the US) to celebrate, wish Kate a happy birthday and say thank you to our driver Nanlee and captain Allison! My race was generously sponsored by Reebok Canada. Van and design graphics provided by gawck.
