So, when we left off, team Endorphriends were up to their eyeballs in puffballs and, well, googly eyeballs. Our awesome captain Leanne had set up a lists to help us get organized. Thankfully we had a few campers in our group so were well stocked in tents and chairs! Leanne went shopping and bought us all kinds of amazing snacks and fuel and then graciously invited the whole team to spend the night at her parent's house which was about 20 minutes away from the Ragnar site. Only Lisa who had to work the day of the race took her up on the offer.
We loaded up several (thank goodness there were several) cars and make the trek north. We settled into our home on the edge of the forest while the multi-talented Leanne prepped dinner for the team. Despite the absence of any large pots, we enjoyed a very yummy meal of pasta and salad. We took the opportunity to celebrate Maria's birthday with a little dessert treat and off-key rendition of Happy Birthday. Leanne and I disappeared to make up the team goodie-bags which consisted of team track pants and monster socks (thank you Leanne!) the technical shirts we'd had made, a team bandanna, puffball key chains, a puffball hair-tie and Larabar. We finished prepping our monster campsite 'tagging' bags and turned in for the evening, hoping to get some good sleep before the crazy 24 hours ahead!
